ABOUT KATAHDIN STONE WORKS
In 2022, I took my 5-Day contractor intensive course through The Stone Trust and received my Level 1 certificate in Dry Stone Walling. In 2024, I received my Level 2 Advanced Walling certification.
I set the goal that by the year 2023 I wanted to be installing 90% natural stone. By 2025, I was no longer using any manufactured products, and all installations were done using natural stone. I also installed my first “Feature Piece” in the summer of 2025, a stone monument filled with fossils and character. I also began carving bird baths and smaller art pieces for clients (and some nice holiday gifts for family).
I am now on the Board of Trustees with the Stone Trust, and a professional member with the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain. I happily sponsor the Albany Knickerbocker Rugby Club as well as their Youth and Tot rugby programs, and the Capital Bike Racing Club youth team.

BUILT FROM A LOVE OF THE CRAFT
Katahdin Stone Works was established in the spring of 2016, but I have been working within the green industry and with stone since 2005. Much of my early years were spent in New Hampshire planting, weeding, mowing, spring and fall cleanups, with the occasional repairs on a fieldstone wall. Eventually, I found myself on a hardscaping crew putting in thousands of square feet of concrete pavers and wall block.
I left New Hampshire in 2010 and started working in New York City. There I was installing bluestone patios and gardens in the backyards of brownstones, carrying 5-gallon buckets full of dirt out through the apartments to dump in sacks in the street, and the stone back through to be installed.
In 2013, after time spent on a farm in Oregon and a short, idyllic stint living in the Berkshires, I finally landed in Albany. After running a hardscaping crew for a few more years, I decided that I wanted to make the jump out on my own. I wanted to spend more time working with natural stone and connecting with the work, rather than speed through jobs.
